methods to sweeten tea with honey

I would like some ideas on how to use honey in my tea. Do I put the honey in the pot first and then pour on the hot water? Or do I put the honey in the cup of tea? Thank you for input.

I have moved your topic to Flavored Tea, I also have left a "shadow topic" temporarily.

Back when I used honey in tea (prior to diagnosis of diabetes) I used to put it in afterwards. I don't know if the tea would completely dissolve the honey if it was put in a cold cup. But now I use splenda in my tea instead of honey. I don't really think it matters much either way, but I'm still a newb to tea so maybe someone else will chime in with an answer.

I put it in the cup first. Stir and enjoy.

When I make Earl Grey, I add honey to the cup, pour the infusion, and stir. Seems to work great.

Honey contains fructose, glucose, and a little sucrose, while sugar is pure sucrose. When it hits your mouth, fructose is sweeter than sucrose, which is why honey tastes sweeter and thus you’ll probably use less of it, making the calorie difference a wash.
