Should have said something about the artists, but no. The Houhin is a Mukuhara Kashun ( of which several similar pieces have been popping up on the forum (Chip has two!)). The guinomi is a Shibuya Deishi piece that fits in so perfectly that it really can make it appear to be the same artist. Even more so is the sizing is just about perfect between these two pieces.

Great yunomi vacuithe! Love the ash creating that natural celadon.

Love it! Looks like you are pouring into a still semi molten rock. It's a really interesting play between the super refined form of the kyusu, and a rough, and almost unfinished look of the yunomi.

Another splendid pairing: the deep orange pot echoes the orange tones inthe cup, and then you've got the splendid contrast between the rough and the smooth, as already discussed. Love that cup!

Very nice pairing. Petr's work often reminds me of Bizen.

This morning, I noticed a pleasing resonance between my Eiichi Rock and Petr-yaki kyusu: both have a little angular streak of glaze that is a big part of why I chose these particular pieces during the TC TA SO selection, on the handle for the kyusu, and on the wall of the cup for the yunomi. They're harmonizing over some Gu Zhu Zi Sun this morning.

Yin and Yang ...
Winter and Summer ...
Nevertheless, quite a striking pair of opposites yet sharing similarities.
