Not that I love my pot anything less.

I did browse the Hojo site before choosing my pot, but there are no prices listed, which I can't stand :roll:

I guess some of the more expensive ones have a more visible welding at the joint of the body and the spout and handle. That looks less sleek imho. But maybe also less fragile :?:

As you have seen and will see, I love teaware that is very 'fine', and 'smooth'. I appreciate the beauty of the wabi-sabi Hagi, Raku and the like, but I just like the smooth, clean feel and look of Arita and other porcelains to drink from. I'm fond of blue and white :mrgreen:

the link alex provided shows prices, they are listed in JPY though.
I believe the difference in price between the pot you have and the shigaraki pot alex and I have is roughly 100.00 usd not sure about australian conversions.

Hmm, I'll keep Hojo Tea in mind for b'day gifts :wink:

Today, saffron-cardamom-marigold infusion in glass, with tiny Chinese porcelain cups.

This teapot likes to play with the law of communicating vessels :mrgreen:

It doesn't have a hole in the lid and the infuser also creates suction.

But even when that's all fine, it sometimes just doesn't want to pour properly. At other times, no issues :roll:

It may not pour like a champ, but it sure shows off that pretty infusion beautifully. Glass is very nice that way.

Yes dshu : a friend of mine calls it "turquoise lagoon"...

My photos are not good enough to fully express the intense turquoise color...

The set shows 3 kyusu by Yamada So :
- red one = shudei - 280 ml - gas fired
- brown one = yakishime - 250 ml - wood fired with nice green yohen
- blue one = 130 ml - wood fired

Today I drank masala chai from a Thai Benjarong cup. It wasn't as expensive as it looks :mrgreen:

At Boonyarat Benjarong. They have a very large choice of amazing stuff.

You'll have to email them to order though, cause ordering via the website doesn't seem to work outside of Thailand. And the shipping costs are kinda high

I love that Boonyarat Benjarong cup and saucer. There are some beautiful jars and bowls available also. I've already sent an email to my son in Thailand to find out if he expects to be in Bangkok before he comes to visit in April. In the meantime I can enjoy their website.
