Culture, language, tangibles, intangibles from countries known for tea. China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, India, etc...

Just recovered from a few days of man flu now, I've been drinking a lot more tea than I usually do. Been sticking mostly to some mid 90's sheng pu'er, and some black cheapish yunnan for the days when I had more or less no conception of taste.

I cut two limes in half, squeeze the juice into 16 ounces of boiling water, toss in the limes and wait ten minutes. pour into a cup, add honey and a ginger tea bags and then choke it down when its cool enough. taste horrible but its always done wonders for me.

Missed this topic first time around. I drink some of my usual teas, although not the fanciest, since my nose usually isn't up to the nuances, and sometimes resort to various combinations of chamomile, hibiscus, rose hips, and lemon, like this batch from a few weeks back

If I want to drink tea all day and I'm concerned that I'm over-caffeinating (for me - YMMV) I switch to rooibos. I have Chai Rooibos from Harney's that's really really good, as well as some dessert Rooibos from Adagio that cheers me up. If I'm really sick and I can't deal with delicate steeping requirements rooibos is perfect because I can brew it in my For Life infuser cup with minimal intellectual input.

It actually depends on the illness.. for stomach issues, peppermint or something with ginger added aid in settling the stomach.

For Colds, I get a black and add lemon/honey.

I will also drink silver needle as it seems "lighter"

My roommates and I have colds so I have been drinking ginger tea, and for the past few days I made some Nilgiri black tea for them that I put a tablespoon of honey into each cup. I also have been drinking gunpowder green tea that has dried lemon in it.

I do the ginger too, and it cures me every time! Rather than boiling it though, I blend it with water in my mixer, (sometimes adding turmeric and lemon juice) and then put it in a strainer bag and squeeze out the juice. My partner says that boiling it kills all the vitamins, so well...I changed my approach and now add just some hot water in the end to warm it up. Honey goes well with it too.
As for tea, I usually go for whites, light greens or oolongs in the daytime when I'm sick, and one of our more mild shou puerhs in the evenings when I'm feeling under the weather.
