Hannah: WANTED! Small kyusu!
Hello TeaFriends!!
I am after a small kyusu! Pre-loved would be preferable as I don't have much cash to burn at the moment. Would prefer something under 100ml but 100-120 would also be ok
side note: If anyone knows where I can buy the small one thats on rishi and dens tea like this: http://tinyurl.com/a2dj4jo (which are both sold out) elsewhere, I'd appreciate that also!
Thank you!
Hannah

Yeah, that Kyusu was the first thing to pop into my mind.
Are you sure it must be a Kyusu. There are lots of Houhin-s and Shiboridashi-s out there in that size but not many Kyusu ... at least not Kyusu that are budget friendly.
[EDIT] Ohhhh, one of our TeawareArtisans would make you one. Petr and Shawn come to mind. Cost would be pretty reasonable.
Perhaps you have an amount you would be willing to spend?

Andrzej Bero too:) Under 100? thats really small. I preffer small pots too but not about kyusu. I have gaiwan 90ml, shibo 75(from andrzej:)), yixing 90, but I havent small kyusu, its uncomfortable I guess. Yeah 3 days ago I bought new gaiwan - 150 ml. Huge for me, but I use it for brewing in Western Style(in Usa u say Grandpa Style). So try Teachat Artisan:) Aneybo.blogspot.com

Thanks guys!!
Chip, I was hopefully looking at anything under $100 but that may very well be wishful thinking
And yes, <100ml is small but I'd prefer a kyusu for sampling and smaller cups rather than large tea sessions!

I have a small kyusu by Andrzej Bero (about 85ml), and I love it !
pour very well, very efficient filter, size is OK for 1 guy.

not expensive at all

This is link to a distributor in Japan:

As far as I know they do not sell direct .
Perhaps Teas of Japan can get it for you :

Yes... keep that page bookmarked. It's a great catalog. They come out with a new catalog every year. You can order from them by following the directions here. Also, check out their English-language website. There's some useful information there as well as a gallery of artisan pots. $$$ but gorgeous.

Just make sure you are very clear about the characteristics you want in a pot - filter type, size, etc - and they will help guide you to what you want, sometimes it's not even in the catalog - I got my larger Kyusu through that process - basically said I wanted a particular size and filter that looked like a certain one in the catalog that was too large and I ended up with something better than anything in the catalog - exactly what I wanted. They are pretty helpful in my experience. It's a bit weird to follow that process after being used to buying online with a couple of clicks like most estores, but it works just fine. Also ask about shipping options, there is a big difference in cost usually.
