i bought this tea cup in the mount asama area of karuizawa. i didn't get to see the kiln or maker, just a small display of tea ware in a road side fruit and vegetable shop. the kiln's name is Asama Kibou-an. in spite of the appearance, it is a smooth glaze and has a bit of weight to it. the size is 2.5" tall x 3.5" wide.
i labeled it Karuizawa yaki but i am not sure if that is correct. this was one of 4 local yakimono styles i came across, but the only one i bought from. a good reason to return.
i hope you enjoy looking, thanks.
