Did someone say High Fired TGY? This is a casual brew, while still strong, not quite chouzhou style, as I did not crush anything.
Enjoy!

Great vids! Have you ever tried hacking your steeps? (http://snooteablog.wordpress.com/2013/02/02/tea-hacking-college-edition/) Considering you know the importance of a good brew, I'm curious what your results would be.

To put the leaves in the teapot i use a white paper sheet, it's the easier way for me.
I was about to say the same thing, looks like a funnel of some sort is in order. I use a folded note card for wiry teas and a tiny metal jar lid for rolled oolongs.
One question- If the point of pouring the rinse over the pot is to season the pot, wouldn't it be wise to let it dry completely before pouring more water over it? This would allow for more absorption of the tea oils into the pot and not have them get washed away.
Compliments on your drip-less pouring! I would be dripping everywhere.

You could but often just after the rinse the pot doesn't quite have enough heat built up to dry it in any sort of quick fashion, so I could let it soak everything up and really cool off, or let most of it soak in, then pour over more water. Not to mention I feel the extra water helps prevent blotchy spots.

Blotchy spots are bad? Brushing and rubbing seems a bit too fussy to me, but maybe that's from reading Marshal N's blog where he says to just use them and let the patina take care of itself.
It reminds me of an old Rita Rudner standup bit- What's the point of getting a tan if you don't have any tan lines? Do you tell people "Look how tan I am compared to the whites of my eyes."

Some special Sencha in a special set up. Or in other words high test sencha, probably should have brewed a little cooler, this hohin is nearly impossible to use when the water it too hot ( definite finger burner).

My class this morning was canceled, and its cold windy and snowy out, so what else to do but brew up some nice warming tea? I think it is time for Yixing Red! But wait I am posting in this thread... that means there is a video right?

I've really enjoyed these! The high grade sencha (or just sencha in general) videos are definitely what I like to see! The koicha video was also great. Having never seen koicha made casually (or formally), it was quite informative.
Nice houhin
