Hi All

by jbbrann » Jan 13th, '08, 21:19

Hello all. I've been lurking around here for a while so I thought it was high time that I popped in and said hello. Interestingly enough, it seems I started reading a couple of Teachat's esteemed member's blogs before I visited the forum, so I know I'm in good company.

I'd always been a bagged tea drinker, but I was introduced to "real" tea a couple of years ago by a couple of friends from China. Ironically, now my teas of choice are Japanese greens but I do enjoy plentiful quantities of Earl Grey for breakfast every morning.

Cheers to all!

Hi jjbraun, your ownership of a kyusu opens the door for your admittance to TeaChat!!! Congrats.

Seriously, welcome to the best tea forum in the USA. I started with Chinese tea and have also moved mostly to Japanese greens as well. Someone is sending me a sample of Japanese black tea, that should be...interesting.

What Japanese tea do you like most, sencha? There are many fukamushi fans here.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Thanks Chip. I must admit that is not my kyusu, but I do own one. Hmmm... Japanese black tea??? Hopefully you will let us know how it is.

I do prefer sencha (usually karigane) for an everyday tea. I, too, am a fan of fuka and I even enjoy gyokuro on occasion. The only Japanese teas I can say I'm not a fan of are houjicha and genmaicha.

I have many fans. 8)

I, as well, started with Chinese greens before finding the true sencha-god. She (looks like a beautiful Japanese woman) told me that the first step to enlightenment is owning a kyuusu. So I congratulate you. You are already on your way towards a heaven where beautiful women make you heavenly sencha all day long.
