Back from Xishuangbanna
I am new to Pu and just recently returned from a wonderful trip to Xishuangbanna. Our local hosts were avid tea drinkers and took us to the ancient trees where we saw the picking, roasting, drying etc. They also took us to a local shop where we were able to purchase a tong of raw and fermented Pu after tasting them on site. I have not seen these while reviewing the boards and wonder if there are any drinkers that have tried either of these cakes. The raw is from spring 2011 and the cooked is from autumn of 2011. We like them, but don't have a lot of experience with this type of tea. Based on our purchase, we will be drinking this daily. Our relatives and friends in Shanghai wanted us to buy more after we showed these to them. I have no idea on the value, we dealt directly with the owner at the processing plant in acquiring these.
