thanks for the link !
i was at their "shop" within the restaurant today and was told there's no tea room . just bulk tea , teawares , and to go for sale from the counter .
while much smaller and different from their shops in kyoto and tokyo , felt like i was back in japan .

Stopped in after work for a gyokuro. Mellow, sweet and round.

The proprietor smiled when I mentioned TC.

Was it Ricciero (I have to look up the spelling later ... )? He told me it was opening on March 21. If I understood him correctly (on both points), I think he "runs" the tea area.

It is too bad you cannot sit and drink tea ... but I understand as well as space is at a premium.

I believe TC is required reading for everyone at Ippodo. I think they are going to put it in each room on JUMBO screen monitors! Well, that was my suggestion ... 8)

It is always exciting (I get that "ooooo" sensation  ) to see the teas and teawares we see online from Japan ... in real life!

A teahouse only in the sense that they will brew tea for you, but it's strictly take-out.

Or you can go upstairs and have an amazing 'smoked Tea' for the whole meal. Which I did today :) Yum!

I stopped by today! They served me some matcha, I got some gyokuro to go and of course I couldn't resist buying some tea.

So...it's strictly take-out? No, sitting down with a pot/bowl of tea and wagashi? I'm just trying to figure out if it is worth the trip to pick up some shincha.
