My new HTC phone makes these cool little videos. My wife just returned from China where she bought everything you see here in the videos, including the large tea table, her suitcases were very heavy.

Hi guys, I just acquired a new yixing teapot. It's been a long time since I last bought a "new" teapot. It's kind of big, but I have been using it as fairness pot.

The bamboo work looks to be so fine, articulate, and delicate. It feels very refined. Enjoy!! :D

Bought some teapots, how do I determine if they are safe to drink from? I was wondering if there is a test to detect if there is lead or harmful chemicals in the clay. We don't know much about these teapots, but bought them from someone that had bought them all in an estate sale. They were priced cheaply, and we thought they looked cool.

Here are some more of the tea pots that we picked up. All the tea pots were stamped, but don't know much about them.

In the first three I would be less worried about the clay than I would about the shoe polish covering them....

Start by cleaning them the first three have been artificially aged. Hopefully that stuff will come off.

good to know, is there a preferred method to remove the shoe polish? Will boiling and rags do the trick?

I'm not sure anything will remove show polish. The wax probably permeates the clay.

Before 1970's Yixing collection:

Finally, the long wait for a hot summer to take some long due pictures.
ROC to CR periods Yixing. Mostly from Factory 1.

Alright that has to be the TeaChat tease of the decade if not century. Tim can you please include a link to somewhere we can view the image on a much larger scale? I feel the tiny pictures do not do any of those yixing justice. :D
