BigHorn how much leaf did you use? I ask because more leaf at the beginning will last into the 4th and 5th infusions. I had OK results with;
Steep parameters: 1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th
5g/2oz water/140F for 90s, 150F/45s, 160F/90s, 170F/3min, 180F/3.5min

But then concentrated the brew a little more;
7/2/130/2min, wow super rich! Great flavors, can do 6/2/130/2min next time.
2.5/140/1min, awesome again!
2.5/150/2 min, awesome sweet smooth, flavorful,
2.5/160/3min, lighter but still flavorful
2.5/170/4min, lighter still...some flavor left...

Thank you for the observations.
I used half the bag (should have been about 5 g?) The first try was with 5 g. I just dumped what was left. A shame there is not another 7 g left for a third try!

Sounds like a bit more leaf and heat worked well. Gyo sure does seem like it can be quite flexible.

#3: O-Cha's Gyoku-Hou
I finished up the last half of the bag today.
Sad to see this one go! It was easily my favorite of the four.

A nice contrast to the 12 year old gyo from O-cha which I reopened last week!
