Weirdly, the link in your first post to the teaboat photo showed up fine in the Tapatalk app on my phone, but won't show up here except with Chip's link.

Either way, it looks like a sweet setup!

So happy with my recent shipment from Petr: I wanted some cha he made especially with photography in mind, and he came up with pieces that enhance rather than distract from the tea, and are easy to photograph well--not too shiny or deep or patterned

Image

and then, just before those were to be shipped, this little teabark pot was posted and I fell in love:

Image

Image

The subtle color variations plus the texture make for a very lively surface, and it's even got a little flower, or perhaps a paw print, for added fun

Image

best of all is that it seems to really take to darker oolongs, and to the first Wuyi teas I've tried with it, seeming to emanate delicious tea scents from the pores of the clay near the spout--something I've not noticed in any other piece of teaware.

Image

It pairs very nicely with this rocky guinomi from Mark Smalley

although I'm having fun pairing it with other cups as well.

That teabark pot is just wonderful, even it looks match the characteristics of wuyi tea perfectly. I cannot stop drooling

I couldn't be more pleased with this teeny teapot from Petr Novak. :D I love all the little details in the glaze effects on the outside, and it pours like a charm. I had a hard time getting my camera to focus properly, so I'm going to try again another day.

I couldn't resist a pair of teacups with a tree-bark skin on the outside. The glaze on the inside is so beautiful and almost looks 3D up close! :D

After having read your blogs post of all the terrible things that can befall beautiful teaware (and seeing my poor broken snakeskin kyusu), I just wanted to take the opportunity to show everyone how great things can be if all goes well! The replacement kyusu is feeling pretty happy, I think.

About the imperfect pieces you show at the bottom of your blog, the ones that are still in use: wow!!! I do not know if they are beautiful in spite or because of their imperfections but: wow! If you should ever want to get rid of them, you may think of me

In any case, the kyusu here is pretty perfect :D

I have been so busy lately with organizing, etc tastings, that I neglected to say how truly incredible everyone's new Petr-Yaki are! I hope they bring you many years of joy.

Petr is holding some pieces for me til he finishes a few other special order pieces.
