Twining's Lady Grey help (tips for getting subtle flavors)

by ACardAttack » Jun 26th, '13, 10:13

I'm trying to really love this tea, I havent had much luck yet, other than getting it to taste like Earl Grey when I add milk. The tea leaves smell so good, and so flavorful, I'm having a hard time getting the subtle flavors to translate over to the brew..." additionally it contains lemon peel and orange peel oil." those are the flavors I really want to come out to taste

I've tried 5 min, 6 min and 7min didnt like it/didn't think it was strong enough...though I might try 7 min again as I didn't write down what my feelings were on it...this was 1 teaspoon per 8 ounces

I just tried 5 min with 1 teaspoon per 6 ounces which was a little too strong

Any Tips?

Many things could be wrong here; many things you could try. Perhaps the water is too hot? Perhaps you are brewing too large a quantity (distinct from ratio)? Perhaps your water has too many minerals? Perhaps the tea is stale? Conversely, you can cultivate the ability to let go of tea that does not speak to your condition.
