Got an order today that I placed with Tony lately. Let me just say those in the OTTI are going to be happy with the Shan Lin Xi: Long Feng Xia.

It is very very delicious. I swear some infusions seemed almost like pure melted butter!

 I just finished OTTI 18 teas today. I ordered a gaiwan in preparation for this tasting, but it looks like the tea will arrive first

A big thank you to Chip and SilentChaos! I'm looking forward to a great OTTI :D

For brewing suggestions from OriginTea, be sure to follow links to the individual selections located in the first or second post.

Although I am still taking my time working my way up the ladder from least to most expensive, I think at this point the only thing I will add to this is I prefered a higher ratio. So instead of 2:1, I would go 2.5:1 or even higher. Alternately I guess I could simply brew a bit longer, but my instincts say gimme more leaf.

And enjoy! Remember to post!!! :!:

My samples just arrived as well! I'll be away all this week backpacking, but couldn't wait to break open something before I left. I'm starting with the Shan Lin Xi. The rest will have to wait until I return next week. :)

Enjoying the Shan Lin Xi again in a Yixing I am dedicating to Gaoshan. I talked with Tony and he feels this one would be a good match. So far I have no reason to doubt.

From one OTTI right into the next one.
Just reached into the envelope and selected at random. Fushoushan.
The entire 10g sample in a 120ml gaiwan. Boiling Iceland Spring water.
Not really timing my steeps, just feeling my way along. I lost track of what brew I am on at around 8. I am guessing I have had 12 so far.
Amazing fragrance. Like jasmine. Very delicate flavor.
I had only one steep get a little bitter on me when I was distracted for a minute or two. I let that infusion go about 4X longer than I should have and it was still very drinkable.
I like a buttery gaoshan, this one was fairly light I thought. But it was very refreshing and really hit the spot after a long hot day.

Really looking forward to trying the rest.
Thanks, Chip and Tony.

They're here!

It's still a bit warm here, so I've 'warmed up' for my first session with a cold brewed cup of Dayu Shan, a second steeping of the leaves. It's mild and cool and should cool me down enough to start a hot-brewed sample in a little bit. Mmm.
