I really was not looking for another teacup when browsing on Mago's eBay recently, but this one by Harumichi Suzuki immediately brought Hokusai's famouse Wave to mind, and I was as smitten immediately.

It's a Sea Cucumber glaze.

I love how it glows with light through the tea

Watch the Magokorodo EBay store. I'm sure there will be more from this new artisan.

I am afraid I grabbed the other one ;) But as debunix said, there will be more. Harumichi Suzuki is a young a promising artist.

Don't be afraid to write a mail to Hidehisa from Magokorodo. I am sure he will tell you if there are more to come.

Here is my latest aquisition. The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation in Watkinsville, GA has a pottery invitational every year. Today was the opening day of the show and I picked up this small cup made by Atlanta artist Keiko Coghlin.

If you look closely, there is a little "arrow" on the inside of the cup on the glaze. I suppose it means "This Side Up"

I love that pretty cup bonjiri - I have a thing for the little shell-prop imprints, maybe because I grew up near the sea. Where'd you acquire it?
