Shu vs Sheng
I begin to think that I am nearly the only member of this forum who actually likes Shu Puerh better than Sheng. Why do you prefer sheng to shu? Perhaps I simply haven't truly tried good sheng, but I don't think so? I have never tried a true aged sheng as they can cost big money.

You can try a small sample of fine aged sheng for not a lot of money--a lot per gram, but a small outlay to see what the raves are about. It is different, but a good shu is fine stuff too.
I'm might be a bit of an anomaly here too, because I'm a pu-omnivore. I enjoy some aggressive young shengs, fine aged shengs, and smooth tasty shus.

You are not alone. It was shu pu-erh the first time I tried it. Much later I tried sheng but still I drink shu more often.AllanK wrote:I begin to think that I am nearly the only member of this forum who actually likes Shu Puerh better than Sheng. I tend to drink more shou cha than sheng cha. I usually stick to the bigger brands though as I think the quality is better than some lesser ones. If you want to see crazy check this link. http://steepster.com/mrmopar/cupboard. See If I have any shou cha...

Because good quality aged Sheng is far more complex in taste than Shu.AllanK wrote:Why do you prefer sheng to shu?

If I had unlimited funds or a warm and humid environment, I probably wouldn't bother with shu. But I don't, so I do!
Tastes nice, makes me feel good, cheap and easy to get hold of. There are times it just hits the spot.
Edit: but unlike the OP, I prefer sheng.

I believe very few people would dislike good sheng. So the the right question is - did you try a good sheng?
