Song Tea is now open. I went there on Thursday. They are holding a grand opening event today.

Their web store is not yet open though although Peter is working on it.

I highly recommend going - 2120 Sutter St. at Steiner. They have a well chosen selection of teas from China and Taiwan. They also have some great teaware from Taiwanese artisans. They will be expanding their teaware line over time. The items they carry are of very high quality (and the prices reflect it.)

It is a beautiful, peaceful space that they've designed. It is the top tea place to visit in the Bay Area.

"The best Alishan ever" is quite a bold claim to make :)

I would imagine the rent alone for a storefront in SF would most likely remove any possibility of getting a good deal on tea. Better off buying from one of the many online vendors approved by tc.

Sure, you're probably not going to find great deals on tea at a physical tea shop. I have before, at the old Seven Cups Denver location, but those teas were heavily discounted in a liquidation sale... :P But tea is not the only reason to visit a teashop. I think brick-and-mortar stores that serve tea make a good place for a pleasant date (I've done this before), and for the few of us who haven't already tried every kind of camellia sinensis product, they make for a good place to try new varieties.

Brick and mortar stores are great place to meet like-minded individuals, and to have discussions about tea other than Teachat.
