Hi from Canada

by bes » Oct 14th, '13, 00:11

Hi,

I've lurked on this site for quite a while and have been fascinated by the depth of knowledge many of you have on tea and the beauty of many of your collections. Although I've always appreciated tea it is only recently that I developed a passion for it. I love all black (red ) teas, though I mostly drink assams and various Chinese blacks (Fujian, Wuyi, Rizhao, Laoshan, and Yunnans for the most part), greens and white teas. I have little to know experience with puerhs and yellow teas, but may explore them in the future. Looking forward to learning more in this community.

Thanks for the welcome Chip!

Right now I have been drinking mostly Rizhao black teas, and various Fujian blacks. I guess I have been craving sweets! I recently discovered that I love Dancongs so I have started to explore those as well.

Hello
I'm a newbie - from Canada too....great to find this forum.
I am looking to start a small pop up business and then grow it when the time is right. Just doing my study and research now - so this is a timely entry into the forum.
Best

Hi yalokinh!,

They are aren't they. Before, I had mainly drunk various rolled green oolongs and Da Hong Pao, on a regular basis. But Dancongs really are something special!

Hi Tango,

Best of luck on your business startup! There really is a wealth of information here.

Welcome Bes; I'm also a noob on this forum but have an intense passion for Tea. How many cups per day do you drink? I've been known to drink six 8-ounce cups (when resteeping, of course)!

That depends! Lately I've been probably drinking more than six since I tend to drink my oolongs until there's no life in them ( sometimes more than 16 infusions) and even some of my black teas go past 7 infusions ( even when brewed western style). 5-6 is probably average but often many more! What is you're favourite type of tea? I ignore this I read what you wrote in your intro. Did you run in the marathon this weekend?

Sadly no as injuries prevented my doing so :( . This is partly because I got cheap with my main running pair and held off buying a new one but I'm going to make a trade in a few days. Do you have a favourite place to buy tea? And what's your favourite type of Oolong?
