Winner (first to guess the correct answer to the riddle) gets a free pass to a "standard" OTTI (in other words, not a "premium" round such as the upcoming Premium Gyokuro round).
Post your guesses here to qualify ... though if you are wrong, Gollum gets to eat you!!!

I can't solve the riddle but I'm excited that there's a premium gyo OTTI coming.

I'm going to guess that's how many scales Smaug has (it was originally 241,784, but he lost one ya know
).

OK, to make it more of a "riddle" and less of of a "what do I have in my pocket" kinda question.
... like sands in the bottom of a perpetual hour glass ... this number always seems to increase, never decrease except by some intervention. What is it?

Fascinating guess. I will announce the winner in 2014 ... unless not guessed.
I am as fair as Bilbo, giving members up to three guesses!

The number of gold coins under the Lonely Mountain? The number of hairs on my head? The number of leaf particles in a teaspoon of fukamushicha?
Well, possibly, maybe ...

I must admit to curiosity as to why my last guess was fascinating.
Um, the number of links in Bilbo's mithril mail coat?
