Have been drinking tea for all my life, but not in any serious capacity. More recently though, I have been trying to change that.
I recently went to Taiwan to visit family (after not having been there for 11 years!) and it was fantastic to see the island and my family once again. One of the most exciting parts however, my uncle who has apparently been collecting pu-erh tea's for the better part of two decades (unbeknownst to me) had an amazing collection to share with me. Upon returning home, I was gifted several sheng bing-cha's and a few tuo-chas, plus some Fu Shou Shan 2013 winter oolong and a few others teas just to try. Due to a bit of a language barrier, I wasn't able to fully grasp what it was he had gifted me, so right now I'm trying to figure it out! Since receiving these gifts I have been doing nothing but reading about tea. Needless to say, work has suffered a bit
Either way this site has been an incredible wealth of information already, and I can't wait to dive deeper (and maybe even contribute something useful one day).
Greetings from the Bay Area!

Hi Norms.
I too am in the Bay Area (near Campbell and Los Gatos in the south Bay). Glad to have another tea fan nearby. I enjoy puerhs as well and would love to have a Bay Area meet & greet (& drink) should anyone be interested!
Best of luck.

Debuix, thanks for the welcome. I can't wait to pick everyone's brains. I have too many questions--so I'm working to funnel them down.
Tst, that would be great--it would be interesting to meet others nearby to talk tea and all of that. Perhaps at the least, to do a little tea swapping!
