Suddenly feeling an urge to set aside today's Ginkgo cup in favor of a crawly, drippy Deishi....

Who made that one? I swear I should know the artist, but I am coming up blank. rf in the picture name, could that be Robert Fornell?

Either way quite nice!

Wow lovely tea bowl Cory!

I liked the loose looking foot, looks like a nice bowl to use. Maybe one day.

..

I made my tea, got my camera and took several photo's, but after I drank my tea and then i checked the photo's i took (which I'm apparently incredibly inept at) and they were all horrible.

This one is still bad but the best out of the ones i took during preparation.

Today's MatchaWan :D (new name, but tea's the same)

Nothing to be ashamed of in that shot--pretty shino bowl, rich green tea. Looks like a pleasing session.

Thank you, its comforting to know!

And its actually a bowl by Seigan Yamane, though rather unusual in form and color-wise compared to his blues:)

And yes it was. However i tried to make somewhat OK shots. But 95% were blurred. I gotten myself, besides the white one, 4 others by Seigan Yamane, so more will be in here as soon as i found something to act as a standard:)

I agree - nothing to be ashamed of whatsoever!
Thank you so much for sharing your matcha session with us - it's so inspiring and comforting to see the bowls and matcha of all our matcha friends.
That looks like a beautiful bowl, I look forward to seeing more of it and your other chawan too!

Hi,
I enjoy drinking matcha almost every day. Usually I drink usucha (thin) matcha but today I tried for the first time a thick koicha. As you can see I'm a newbie and I'll have to exercise this koicha
Tastewise this koicha Manten was quite good: full-bodied and yet almost no bitterness or sharp taste. Last but not least the 'injection' of this pure green energy made me feel very, very good.

When I bought this chawan (64 euro) the shopkeeper told me it was hand-made. After drooling over this and other websites' beautiful photos I discovered that my 'unique' chawan has many brothers and sisters  Anyhow, its weight, size and colour is very appealing so I don't really mind :D

cheers,
Sasameyuki

Sasameyuki, I have one if it's sisters, :) It's a nice and very pretty chawan.
I believe the potters name is Kato Eichi. there are several websites that sell his wares such as http://www.japanese-pots.com/KatoE1.htm and he seems to make a lot of pottery in the $20-60 range as well as a few pieces going for as high as $200-300. Atleast that I have seen thus far available over the net.
