Lost shipment from Japan-refund?

by Ramsay » Feb 15th, '14, 20:35

I ordered 3 bags of tea from Yuuki Cha which has never been delivered and apparently is lost. I used the less expensive airmail alternative rather than EMS. Will the vendor typically re-ship or provide a refund in such circumstances ? Thanks

Contact the seller and tell them what happened and ask for a refund.

They may refund you or send more tea, or they may not. The least you can do is tell them what happened, and ask them for a refund or more tea.

Lost shipment from Japan-refund?

I wouldn't expect them to feel obliged to: part of the cheaper price of non-EMS shipments is the risk of an uninsured shipment not arriving.

If you paid with paypal, I recall reading about buyer protection. Maybe they do not do this anymore, but worth looking into.

Paypal says you're on your own after 45 days.

Are you certain it's lost? I've found recently that mail delivery doesn't seem to be as good as it used to be, and the bad weather in parts of the country hasn't helped. A recent order from TeaSpring (love their cheap flat rate), which had tracking but no insurance, took longer than usual to arrive and the USPS online tracking information was so convoluted as to be essentially useless. It eventually arrived, though, so maybe your order isn't necessarily a casualty?
