Culture, language, tangibles, intangibles from countries known for tea. China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, India, etc...

Cycling in Yunnan

by MEversbergII » Feb 18th, '14, 09:20

This is a video by a Dutch couple done in Yunnan:

Back in 2010 they did a 1100 km (!) trip around the prefecture. Sadly, there's nothing about tea, but you do get to see a bike (Flying Pigeon) powered cotton candy machine!

Wow very nice! If cycling plus tea is even better!

Cheers!

Ah yes, I remember peering through that. I think it's time for a proper readthrough...

As an avid cyclist, who likes travel (though isn't doing much interesting travel of late - young kid...) I will put a cycling trip through a tea country on my bucket list! Thanks.

Clearly, we all need to mountain bike to that remote former taoist temple.

Perhaps some day! Right now I'm lucky if I can afford tea :p

It's a lot cheaper for me--I need an expensive visa for China (I'm not a Chinese citizen, British on paper), but once I have one I can just wheel my bike across the border! As for Taiwan, I can fly for $200 or less at certain times of year!
