Yay! Happy to support my favorite vendor here, and hope that lots of you will buy stuff from him to keep him in business so he can keep sourcing and supplying me with good tea.

More later when not so busy.

I've only ordered from Norbu once so far, but I've enjoyed all of the teas from him that I've tried. Shipping was fast and affordable as well. Some cool, unusual listings that I haven't seen offered elsewhere. :)

I've been ordering from Norbu since 2009--Greg was probably the first online tea specialty vendor I tried when I started to really explore tea with more attention and interest.

What I like best about his teas is that he finds good stuff, and sells if for reasonable prices. I can read his descriptions, and predict quite accurately which teas I will like, and which will not be for me (not because they're poor quality, but because I'm a bit of a bitterphobe). I've also corresponded enough with him about the teas for his picks for the bonus samples he tosses into my orders to be stuff I will really like. So: interesting teas, and a good relationship with a vendor who knows what I like. That's a great combination.

He doesn't have tons of teas in any one category, and his offerings change from time to time--actually, that's one of the few frustrations I have with his offerings--he may get an awesome tea once, but not be able to keep it in stock for the long term.

Today, I'm still enjoying day 3 of his private label 2009 Lao Mansa puerh, one of the first beengs I bought. It's a lovely young sheng puerh that as I drink it, permits many very short infusions over one long or several sessions divided on several days. I'm trying to drink it only occasionally, so I can watch it evolve (in my not really very controlled environment....).

I got my first young sheng puerhs from Norbu, my first Taiwanese mountain oolongs, splendid floral and fruity white teas, and though I do go to even more specialized vendors who have more depth in Japanese greens or puerhs or Taiwanese oolongs, I come back to Norbu for probably at least half of the tea I drink, and always try to pick something new and different to go along with the tried and true, and usually I will like it.
