Beautiful teawares!

I'm still working on photographing my snowflake cups from Shawn. It's tricky so show how lovely they are when full of tea! Your steam rising certainly captures it.

Rocky goodness, as I look out side and believe the North American Ice Sheet has decided to start to reform over the Great Lakes, especially Michigan. Also can not leave out my favorite set of teaware in the background, my lovely plants that provide life and fresh air to all my tea sessions. I honestly never thought I had that big of a green thumb but this collection with the exception of one of the 5 plants planted has been thriving lately.
Wow who made that cup? its sweet!

Shibuya Eiichi. It is sweet, it was one of the SO's a few years back... I do hope those make a return soon, but I understand Chip has been incredibly busy.

More on this later but it is actually the cup one of my friends chose when I had some of them over for tea and told them they could pick which ever cups they wanted. (Another chose the Biwa SO wan, and the third chose my Karatsu Yunomi.)

FYI, rock-finish teacups and sake cups by Shibuya Eiichi do show up on Magokorodo's ebay shop from time to time....although there are none at the moment.

Native wildflowers from the garden in Shawn McGuire secret shine glazed vase, with Da Yu Ling from Origin tea, infused 'grandpa style' in Petr Novak snowflake glaze tea bowl. A beautiful start to the day.

NEW! Official Teaware of the Day!

by blairswhitaker » Apr 21st, '14, 06:49

This chashaku was made by the monks of sadai Ji. I believe it is a type of bamboo ware called gomeideki, I could be wrong though, anyone who knows is welcome to chime in. Image

Would you mind to share how you are brewing this particular tea? Water volume and temperature, leaves quantity and infusions durations?

I'm having a hard time brewing it correctly, and I don't have much experience with sencha...
