Recommend a quality matcha...

by dRummie » Apr 20th, '14, 16:32

... for a beginner? I did read all the threads, but am hoping for current recommendations, since so much can change with each year (or is it too early in the season still?)

I don't drink tea often... so will probably not go through the entire tin this year. Consequently, I'd prefer to skip the bare minimum of quality and go straight to something solid to enjoy at leisure. I don't want to overpay for nuances I am not yet able to appreciate, though. So basically, the top of the entry-level. Oh, and as little bitterness as possible.

Any pointers are appreciated! This forum hasn't steered me wrong yet (brewing some Yutaka Midori as I type this). Thanks a bunch :D

Here is a good-quality matcha at an excellent price (but only available until the end of the month):

Best wishes,

I agree with sherubtse, Nodoka is a great choice. Even after trying some more expensive options, it's still one of my favourites.

Unanimous, eh? ;) I went ahead and ordered it, as well as some supplies. EMS delivery time estimates are surprisingly short, so here's hoping it comes soon!

Just realized you're in Toronto too! If I remember correctly, their shipping is pretty fast.
*EDIT* I just checked my last order. Placed order on Feb 14th, delivered Feb 21st.

It is. I've been watching it, and it's already in toronto. Should be here by the end of the week!
