Have a good tea day/morning/evening
I can't buy anything all for a while now, but I stop in here every day to see what there is to see, and If anyone whose work I have doesn't show up for a while, I miss them!
It's very different from buying an item at a store, or even owning something by a great and famous artist. A little quiet friendship is made.
When I sip from my Corey Lum wan I always remember him playfully tipping the newly thrown chawan to his lips in the YouTube video and his warm and friendly words in our brief exchange, and I smile and lift the cup to him. When I pour from a Petr pot I think of his quick and kind responses to my questions, the excitement he feels and shares when he opens a new kiln, the person I've come to know just a little in here and on the website (good music!), and likewise tip a little prosit. Shawn's pieces, from a part of the world that I know well and miss, are full of his good humor and surprising grace (and familiar courage in extreme weather); I wave an imaginary mitten in the direction of my old home town. And my first really treasured teapot was from you, Andrzej, such a delight! And I remember our little friendly conversations, and smile at your young sons, your busy life with them, your sweet, friendly humility and your art, and your life, every time I use your wares. No big deal, it's just a natural part of things when I have tea now. Very nice.
The best clay, that makes the sweetest tea, has a lot of human warmth in it as well the skill and art that shaped it, I think. I think for many in here.
(And oh! - I can tell you that my little granddaughter, who likes to name my teaware, calls the yunomi and bowl from you Stern Volcano and Shy Lady. "From Ahnjay" [we googled the pronunciation]. So you can know that, if it pleases you a little. :) )
It's buying and selling, sure, that's the juice, but that's the other reason why it's always very good to see your lovely new work as it comes along.
Cheers!

Kikula - great post, I feel the same from my point of view. This kind of relation is for me very precious. I do not like big words but pottery is puting a part of "me" into a pice of soil. "Me" for itself mayby not exist but there is a moment of fully presence which is frozen in a pot. In rematch I can get your good thoughts you have over a cup of tea. This is inner level. I realy love it and I think mostly making teawares I can experience this. Outer level is an exchange of money and material objects. Important but not a sufficient reason to do that. Difficult matter but I hope I was somehow understandable:)

Received a few new pieces from Andrzej. I'm really liking how this pot handles green oolong.

+1 :D I've found the same thing as well. NPE also confirmed Andrzej's red clay seemed to really serve green wulong. The clay generally has a lingering fresh scent.

Congratulations on the new pieces!

Blessings!

Thanks Alucard for sharing and for your extraordinary patience (it took me "some" time to fulfill this order)

And even when I am not young anymore, I become a proud owner of one of his pots. It is already making me happy, here with some nice roasted Taiwanesse oolong.

A splendid display, indeed. It would be lovely to have such a group from which to pick a special pot--and just to see and appreciate the whole range of teawares.

I'm still waiting to find one that fits an empty niche in my collection (not many ' holes' left to fill) and that I spot before someone else snaps it up....not easy! Much nicer to see and touch first.
