My last order was a little bit over $30. I finally got through the samples I had ordered from Adagio and found some teas I could enjoy in larger quantities. Hopefully those will last me for a bit though at the rate the Vanilla Rooibos is disappearing I have a feeling that may require a reordering before I run out of everything else.

This morning was a mug of Casablanca Twist. After realizing that I was never going to find non-coffee flavored water to make tea with on campus, I switched to a soy mocha to get me through my afternoon classes. One single serving carton of chocolate soy milk plus 2 shots of espresso works really well for a nice pick me up. It doesn't quite get me through classes as well as a mug of tea does, but as it was said before, coffee is better than bad tea. Now that I don't have to be caffeinated, I switched to the Vanilla Rooibos. Later tonight will be some sort of green tea to get me through my late class though I have not decided which one yet.

I like to think of it as free since one of my other hobbies actually makes enough money to support my tea habit. So ya, I'll stick with free....

Oh, and today it's the very dregs of my lishan.

Does everyone else dig through the tea dust at the bottom of the bag to get that last cup too?

That's awesome. Free tea rules.

I do okay. The fringe benefits of my job and tea-blogging brings a certain varitey of tea to me, so I am able to focus my few tea dollars on the things I really want, tea ware, exploring Japanese tea, and still have a nice variety of oolong, puerh, and what not.

Only if it was a tea I liked. But in that case, yes, and I have actually devised a sifting method with my hand to get the last good leaves separate from the dust. Gogo tea ingenuity!

:shock: Tenuki, I was just scraping the bottom of the tin of guricha...funny, just minutes ago. Trying to get it to be just enough. I think I got it all, but still not enough, so I threw some "karsenmatcha" (karigane, sencha matcha blend) in to round it out. Mostly guricha though.

Just sipping the first steep now...

Hmmm, I really like having guricha available, the bag went way too quickly. Can I justify buying another bag before Shincha???

Just broke open a TeaSpring - Feng Huang Dan Cong. I can tell it's gonna be a few days before I figure out the optimal brewing for this tea and my taste, but so far I'm liking it. Just a touch too much 'twiggy' for me in the first cup, we'll see how it plays out. any brew hints folks?

Funny you mention this now-- a number of us have been trying to figure out dancongs lately. Check out this page by Imen of Tea Habitat. By all accounts, she is the queen of dancong.

that's pretty much how I brewed it - just off boil, 30 seconds, good leaf action, yup. gonna try a pot next go, may mellow the twig. second brewing in gaiwan was better, I think this tea is sweetening as I brew, I think maybe a longer initial brew time is also in order. hmn, tea is fun.

You caught me. My biggest all-time order was $45 bucks. Scraping the bottom is a necessity. Unless I come across another surprise tin hiding in the cupboard.

Today was 100% Pu Ehr. I am trying to use up some samples I got from Pu Ehr shop a few months ago. The more Pu I drink, the more I like the samples I set aside and wrote yuk on the side of the bag. Sometimes that scares me! I also have some loose Pu Ehr I got from Red Blossom at home I am getting to the bottom of.
