The day starts with soothing rounds of Sugimoto "Suwanohara" Fukamushi, sustainably grown from Kakegawa, poured in a new gaiwan and cup made by my wife. I found myself enthralled with the swirling fuka leaves and rich, green, cloudy broth, a pleasing way to meet the day.
Blessings!

A delightful tea session this morning with En Shi Yu Lu from Tea Trekker. Its a 2014 pre-qing ming that I added to my shopping cart on a whim due to its low price of $13.50 for 2 ounces. Today I found the sweet spot - hotter water than I'd been using - in a porcelain kyusu. The tea, with the nickname Green Dew, lived up to its description as floral and vegetal.

Enjoyed a session with Sejak from Morning Crane tea this afternoon, sweet and vegetal, peas and asparagus.

Repeat on the above, only this morning I place the same fuka in a vacuum tea flask on the way out the door to an interdisciplinary push hands meetup with other other neijia teachers and students. I sip the tea over the three hours, a nice way to wet the mouth in the interludes between practice.茶藝-TeaArt08 wrote:The day starts with soothing rounds of Sugimoto "Suwanohara" Fukamushi, sustainably grown from Kakegawa, poured in a new gaiwan and cup made by my wife. Finishing a split session with some Sejak from Morning Crane Tea: started this in the morning (and shared a round with good reviews from my office tea crowd), then took a thermos of some oolong down to clinic, and came back up to enjoy round 2, the later/hotter/longer infusions. Mmm. Nice pairing of Shyrabbit rutile yunomi and Petr's shino shibo too.

Long time, no posts. Today, Tsuen Aoi sencha, mmm. Sweet, vegetal, delicious.

I found time, tea, and a camera....
A Korean Sejak (I believe), I would need to hunt down the actual name of the tea.

Just finished a Gyokuro Premium bag from Hibiki-an. Do you guys think I should restock from Hibiki-an, or Ippodo? Which one do you guys prefer?

No opinion on gyokuro--my relationship with it in general is still a new and fragile thing.
Today starting off with contrasts--Tsuen Aoi sencha alternating with sips of leftover cold brewed mountain oolong from Origin Tea.
I think I only have one more
pouch of sencha left, but at present rates it will still be a while before the next order.

Thanks! Any recommendations on which Gyokuro & Matcha I should get? I'm contemplating the Gyokuro Rimpo, but I can't decide on a good Matcha.Chip wrote:Ippodo!GeorgeGR wrote:Just finished a Gyokuro Premium bag from Hibiki-an.
