Green Anxi TGY from a tea store in Hainan. So sweet, fruity and floral compared to the medium oxidized stuff I've been drinking. I noticed the very green Chinese market stuff smells like vegetable oil...very strange.

try Floating Leaves' Roasted Hehuanshan, it's great. I haven't tried the ShanLinXi, but I can safely say that Floating Leaves has much better tea than TTC and it's cheaper.
Thanks for the tip. I have not tried that particular offering from Shiuwen but have tried various teas from both vendors. Each have their own respective strengths and I do not really agree with this generalization.
That's alright, just wanted to put my opinion out there. Maybe I should have made that last statement a bit more personal.

Enjoying a 2004 Jin Suo Shi Yancha from Origin. I like this tea but just do not love it like Tony's Shui Xian's.

That green anxi tgy sounds good, Jayink; however, I've had some oolongs begin that way but after a couple of months produce vegetal flavor which is not what I really want. Over time that vegetal flavor thoroughly dominates. It's happened to me several times. (There is some compensation in that I eventually came to like tasting that 2-3 times a month.)

Ethan, this stuff was vacuum sealed and frozen--at the rate I'm getting through it, it won't have a chance to turn vegetal! ;)

Drinking expensive Thai oolong 12 that has been aging for two years in my dehumidified home office. My dad bought me this stuff in Bangkok and as he always did, he bought the expensive stuff. Wow, it has aged well--very pleasant in my small shuiping.

I wish I could have picked up some of Tony's more expensive Yancha. I have his cheapest Shui Xian (late 90's HK) which ended up being very good, so I wonder how his better ones would have been. I haven't been drinking much Yancha though, I might just stick to YS in the future for Yancha.

That Shui Xian is really good at that pricepoint. I think I sampled most if not all of Tony's Yancha. The 2003 Shui Xian King was probably the star of the show with great complexity and Qi and is really a different animal to what you have. I also like EoT's yancha (have only tried 4 so far) but finding such teas with some age to them is difficult.

Having 2013 Mi Xiang oolong from Floating Leaves today. Some citrus notes with minerals and a floral touch on the finish. Pleasant session.

Momentarily taking a break from my Yancha kick with TTC's winter organic Lishan. Not a bad tea but I think I like the Fushoushan better.

An after-lunch session with Tea Urchin's 2007 Lishan. This tea is solidly in the "Holy **** that's good!" category.

Fenghuang Shuixian from TTG today. Stumbled on this old gem by accident, my first knockout tea, still delivering punches.

Lishan for me too at the moment. This one is a sample I received from Yezi Tea. Very delicious with subtle floral flavors and a honey taste that leaves me reminded of something between graham crackers and gingerbread.

Dongding oolong from Spring 2013. This tea had a great milk taste--it's mellowed out to sweet cinnamon. I bought this at Taipei airport last year. Very enjoyable!
