Double Green Matcha from Republic of Tea

Republic of Tea has a new blend containing green tea leaves and matcha. Has anyone tried it by chance? It seems interesting though I don't know how I feel about Matcha in a tea bag. For me, it sort of cheapens it, but if you're wanting to drink Matcha just for the sake of drinking Matcha, I suppose this would suffice.

One aspect I do like about the tea is that the Matcha comes from Japan and the leaves come from China. Sort of like a peace agreement in a cup. :D

Any thoughts? Comments? Reviews?

Honestly...I felt the quality was poor and that TROT was mainly using "Matcha" as a buzz word to sell tea. 13 dollars could buy much better green tea than that.

The theory isn't that bad behind it. It's the same stuff as sencha matcha, genmai matcha, or any of those other "extra green" teas. It's just tossing the stuff in some low grade matcha to add color and a bit of sweetness to it. Along with buzzword power.

I just don't like the thought of RoT in general.

I agree that the money would be better spent elsewhere.

Their white tea series was the last nail in the coffin. I have permanently severed my relationship with Republic of tea....however - I may - and may - revist them as I would have never been introduced to tea if I had not picked up their matte latte tea about 10 years ago in barnes and nobles...

My TeaRoots are with the Republic, but they have issues anymore. I do my own blending with matcha. It is so easy to do. This way I choose what it is blended with.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Inspectoring: What do you think of their Yerba Mate Latte? The stuff actually made me sick. It's too sweet and the aroma is a huge turn off.

Chip: What was your first RoT tea?

Everyone: Thank you for saving me $13! I was close to buying it but I wanted some opinions before I shelled out that much money ($13 may not seem like a lot to some people but if I'm going to pay anything over $10 for tea, I have to know it's quality)
