Making Tea Bags of Adagio's Citron Green

About how many teaspoons of citron green should I use to make a teabag with Adagio's tea bag paper? Any tips I should be aware of before making my own tea bags?

I think Adagio's paper filters are pot-sized, but I'm not 100% positive on that. At any rate, just use about 1 tsp per however many cups you will be making. Just steeping 1 cup? 1 tsp. Does your pot accommodate two cups? 2 tsp.

I can't say I'd go above 3 or 4 though.

Your best bet is to experiment. If it's too light-tasting, add more leaf.

My rec.: 2 tsp

Ditto...green tea is fluffier usually and more leaf is needed.

*facepalm* I've gotten way too used to measuring my teas by mass that I completely forgot that different teas have different volumes. My bad.

Yeah, 'fluffier' teas usually need a couple spoons worth per cup. 'Packers,' like a lot of Ceylon based CTC teas are a one spooner.

I went with 2 tsp but it was still a tad bit weak. Tomorrow, we'll try 2 tsp of the green apricot and see how that goes. Those leaves didn't look as fluffy, but they seemed longer in length and a bit challenging to measure by the teaspoon.

Mary, do you find your green tea in the zarafina taste best doubling the teaspoons and/or setting the strength setting to "strong"?

I find my green teas taste best brewed with anything but the Zarafina. Its temperature is just too high. She stews 'em. There are very few greens that actually work well at the Zarafina green temps.

I know my insulated mug takes about 2 cups or 16oz so I think I will use 2 tsp per tea bag. Any thoughts or sounds right?

I just made a tea bag tonight with 2 tsp citron green, for a 6 ounce mug. Will let you know tomorrow how it turns out.
