Okgetting caught up on all the posts today...lots of great tea was sipped by all, now I must catch up on my tea consumption as well.

Yes, Cinnamonkitty...this is me to a TEA. Happens all the time.

And like you said, TEA can make it worse. I can get so into a tea, that I can forget to eat.

So this morning, I had that Japanese black...just one steep. I might resteep that later.

Just got around to eating an hour or so ago (case and point). AND, am having sencha...ahhh, man, sencha deprivation makes it even better. Drinking Takumi from Yame. I will not hesitate to start another tea as soon as I finish this one.

Definately!!!!!!!!!!! I would join you and match your blend, but no Guri here. One week and I will have the newest Guri to hit the shores of the USA.

I have to eat something before or during my tea sessions otherwise it upsets my stomach. I usually eat a few animal crackers with my tea to keep my stomach acid in check.

Teas for today.

So you mean to tell me that English Breakfast and Irish Breakfast are not considered a complete breakfast?

So after a fun 3 hour drive home from school, I ended up at the Teaosk and tried the TQY oolong. It was not bad, but I was not impressed with the leaf quality. They looked all broken up into small pieces. The tea was nice enough though.

After I got home, I opened my package from Den's. The yutori kyusu is awesome. I christened it with guricha. I've gotten through four steeps so far and am thoroughly impressed by both.

MMMMM, Guricha!!! Is this your first time trying the Guricha?

5 steeps is optimal for me with guricha.

I had a few cups of spearmint and chamomile throughout the day, and am finishing the evening with some rooibos. Very interesting combination of flavors. It reminds me of something, but I can't think what.

Yep. Guricha is definitely moving into the favorites category after the first try of it. It had this nice sweet but tangy taste to it with a very light astringency. You were right about the steeps. After the fifth steep, which was light and sweet with barely any flavor beyond that, it did not seem worth it to try for more. I guess there is always tomorrow.

It is just so wonderful reading about everybody's tea day. Jogrebe's little misunderstanding about the nutritional value of English Breakfast, Cinnamonkitty's long drive home to the brand new yutori kyusu & pot of Guri, osadczuk's busy days with 3 small children, and all the other great stories. Six months ago I don't think we would have had so much mention of really premium Chinese and Japanese green tea.

No green for me though today (unless you count young sheng puerh). I started the day with shu, moved to dedicating an oversized yixing pot to Assam (something I never would have considered without a gentle nudge from Proinsias and Alesh), and ended with a light, young, raw puerh. I'm beginning to wonder if tea isn't maybe the best part of some of the more mundane days in our lives. And reflecting a bit on each tea day for this thread seems to reinforce that impression and give me a chance to relive those little pleasures.

I thought of just naming the mountain from now on and leaving out the rest since all of you know by now what I usually drink. I could just be like...

'Li'

or

'A Li'

or occasionally (but not this season )

'Lin Xi'

so...
