Flowering tea
I am looking to buy bulk blooming tea balls for my wedding in March. My fiance and I meet in the tea eisle at the grocery store! So we want to bloom tea with our 30 guests + leave them a keepsake. So we will need from 100-150 tea balls. Any suggestions for a great deal would be appreciated!
I would suggest talking to some of the vendors that sell flowering teas directly. On an order of that size I would imagine that they might cut you a deal or work something out because it is your wedding and because that might be some nice PR/Marketing. Is there a vendor in particular that you two are fond of? Since there are so many vendors for flowering teas I would imagine that at least one would want to help you out.
Harney & Sons www.harney.com has a section of art teas & Adagio www.adagio.com has it under the "extras" tab as display teas. We own a business so I got info from Harney regarding their wholesale program & it was reasonable. If I remember right you had to buy a minimum of 4 cases to get the discounted price. It would be worth checking w/each vendor to see if they could help you. Congratulations & keep us posted.
Please note that most often you won't be able to get a wholesale discount from a lot of vendors unless you have a valid tax ID.
The following companies sell flowering teas- Adagio.com, Numi Teas, Teaposy. Teaposy is ridiculously expensive, but there is a wider variety. Numi sells their flowering teas loose- so each bloom is sold in various quantities for various prices ( I saw one that stated 65 dollars for 38 pieces, so about $1.70 per bloom). Adagio teas have boxes of blooms, individually wrapped, 10 to a box for $10.00.
I think it's very sweet that you and fiance met in a tea aisle! I'm hoping that this information helps! I would also suggest check out an Asian Grocery/Chinatowns, etc in your area (if any) to see if they have any bulk tea sections.

Dragonwater also sells flowering teas, and you can order as many as 4lbs worth from their retail website. Not sure how many tea balls that includes, but you can always e-mail and ask.
Another cool thing about dragonwater is they offer sample sizes, so you can try out the flowers before you purchase a whole lot of them.

I know there are a lot more vendors out there, those are just the ones I know sell them off the top of my head. But as far as which one might be more understanding and give you a better deal, I don't know, but I would suggest talking to as many of them as you have time for.

Do you have a relationship with a local tea store that you might be able to convince the owner to buy in bulk for you? It's a lot to ask, but if you're a good customer they might be willing to help you. Like Christine said, you'd need a tax ID and be able to prove you're a reseller to convince a wholesaler to sell to you at cost.
