A white dilemma

White and yellow teas are among the most subtle.

A white dilemma

by Trey Winston » Mar 2nd, '08, 07:39

So I'm about to run out of Silver Needle, and I am in doubt about what to do. If I order new supplies now, I suspect I will get last year's harvest, but if I can hold out for a few weeks, the '08s might be available.

So, should I just bite the bullet and shell out for a year old Silver Needle, or should I use this time to get better acquainted with green?

Any advice appreciated.

You could just buy samples that will last you until the 08 stuff is in.

You probably won't be getting 08 silver needle for quite a while I think. Unless you're ordering directly from china you're probably not getting it airshipped over.

Darjeeling second flush though should be a pretty good bet. There are assorted Tea calendars out there that show when particular regions harvest and ship their tea, so if you're worried about freshness take a look at one of those.

Yeah, I say go ahead and get some to tide you over. It'll be a while before the new stuff is around, right?

It seems there'll be a longer wait than I had thought before the '08s are in. So I'm forced to order more '07 stuff. It's a cruel world. ( )

Thanks for the advice, everyone.

There is this.

It would take about 4 weeks to arrive from China but it's something to consider.

Yeah, either buy samples to get you by or switch to something until the harvest comes in..It shouldn't be too much longer..
