Revolution tropical green tea

by johnb73 » Mar 4th, '08, 18:56

Hello, i am new to Tea chat and new to loose leaf tea.

before i got my infuser and a starter kit i was drinking revolution tropical green tea.
I was curious if anyone knew of a pre-blended loose tea that was similar in taste to this?
"Revolution Tea's Tropical Green is a natural blend of Dragonwell green tea, Young Hyson and pineapple flavoring. "

i figure i could just cut the bags, but $5 for 16 glasses of tea is a bit much in my opinion..

Thank you

First of all, welcome to teachat John! I looked up the tea you described and was unable to find anything similar on any of the sites that I frequent. In my opinion, and what many people here do, is mix your own. Buy the dragonwell and hyson separately and buy some dried pineapple and you can play with the ratios of each and probably come up with something even more delicious that what you had before. Might be worth a shot! Again, welcome!

Harney and Son's has a tropical green tea. It has a decent pineapple-mango flavor and the leaf shape does remind me of a dragonwell tea.

thanks for the link, the picture makes it look very similar, im assuming that would actually taste about the same. the revolution appears to have a bit more lighter colors in it, but close enough i think
