FRIDAY!!! TeaDay, 3/07/08

by Chip » Mar 7th, '08, 01:38

It is Friday...what better day to drink TEA all day.

Welcome to TeaDay. Stop by throughout the day and share what is in your cup with fellow TeaChatters. While you are here, see what everyone else is sipping today as well.

Remember, all are welcome to TeaDay, so whether you are a newbie or an oldie, I hope you will join in.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic is what hot beverage do you drink when you are not sipping TEA. Please share with everyone here what is in your HOT cup when it is not tea.

I hope everyone has a terrific Friday, filled with many cups of tea, etc.

FP.

I loves me some coffee. I counted, I have 7 ways to prepare coffee in my kitchen. Only one way to grind it though. :)

I also drink herbal infusions from time to time. Grow my own mint for that purpose, probably gonna grow chamomile as well this year. I grow mostly herbs for cooking though.

And beer, I drink beer.

And wine.

water? yes.

juice, milk, pop? not so much.

Without coffee I'd kill people.

What evil has been unleashed on TeaDay??? I drank a grand total of less than one cup of coffee in my entire life. I love to smell some good beans though.

I cannot think of another hot beverage I enjoy. I like to make tisanes for others, just not into them myself.

Tenuki, I grow a lot of herbs for cooking as well, perhaps my fav is Rosemary, really like that on almost anything.

Every once in a while, if I am out to eat I will sometimes get a diet pepsi......maybe less than once a month.......other than that it is either hot/cold tea or water.

*Right now I still have some luke-warm Rishi silver needle in my cup....nice way to end/begin the day!

Yup, and rosemary winters well here, I have a 5 year old plant I'm still eating. :) I also grow several different thymes, cilantro, chives, parsley, mixed greens (kale winters here just fine and I just found a recipe for that my wife will actually eat!?!? predictably it starts with bacon in a pan...) oregeno and basil, but i've given up on those this year, just doesn't get hot enough here to get the intense flavor they are capible of. and then new stuff every year to try it out + the usual squashes, beans, etc. Usually grow tomatoes too, but a few years ago I got late blight, so skipping a few years. :(

Oh wait, this is the tea forum.. well, I'm thinking of getting a tea plant for ornamental purposes, does that count?

I must winter rosemary over in a greenhouse, basically unheated except on the worst nights. I have some that are really getting old, 15 years old, grown as topiaries or semi bonsai. The oldest ones are definately suffering from the climate here.

I was at a conference in Vegas and was amazed at all the street plantings of rosemary, seems to thrive in the desert as well.

It's coffee for me too. Strangely, while I prefer mild teas such as white, coffee can't get strong enough for me. The coffee I drink is mostly the darkest espresso I can find.

Hot chocolate with milk (not the low-fat version) for me. I drink it quite every day. Rooibos is my second frequent hot beverage.

This morning Keemun Mao Feng for breakfast.

Since I've gotten into Yerba, I'm drinking it everyday now. I love the stuff.

My favorite hot beverage besides tea is hot chocolate (I would never pass up my butterfinger hot chocolate!).

*Clicked this post after pouring water over yerba mate*

Drinking Playadito brand yerba mate now. Kinda similar to Rosamonte regular, possibly better.
Super elite tea facist....

Aaaw, you don't have hot chocolate as an option!

That used to be my number one choice, but I'm finding that I really enjoy some herbal teas, mainly mint based ones. I ordered some casablanca twist which I look forward to trying this weekend. Which reminds me, I need to go pack up some tea for today!!

Wow, Chip. Would you happen to have some pictures on hand? I would love to admire them!
