Hello! lurker from Texas

by auggy » Mar 21st, '08, 11:04

So I've been lurking around TeaChat for a couple of weeks and feeling rather intimidated since I'm very new to lose tea, but I figured what the heck and decided to de-lurk.

I've been a tea fan for a bit, but only recently delved into the world of loose teas. But after having my first taste of Ti Kuan Yin Monkey Picked last night, I'm definitely sold. I'm a big fan of green teas and am starting to like oolongs. Not a big fan of blacks, but still hunting for one I enjoy as hubby likes the blacks best (he isn't as excited about teas as me, but enjoys drinking what I brew!).

Anyway, I look forward to joining y'all here and I apologize in advance for anything stupid I say as a newbie! :D

Auggy

Welcome! Cute avatar! You will find a lot of knowledge here, just look around and ask questions. Don't be shy! Oolongs are my favorite and TQY is a good place to start.

Be sure to check in on the TeaDay forum and tell us what's in your cup!

Welcome!
Victoria

Thanks all, for the welcome!

Olivierco, no, I haven't tried that yet. I haven't tried that many teas yet, but I am making a list - and Yunnan golden tips is going on it! :)

What a "stupid" thing to say. Just teasing. Welcome to TeaChat, and don't worry about saying something stupid. I have said around 1,967 stupid things to date and counting...

I saw you on TeaDay!!! I hope you visit us there often. It is a great place to casually post and get to know everyone. We can get to know you as well!

A really nice black and right up your alley...Golden Monkey.

Chip - thanks! Will try the Golden Monkey, too. I think I'm going to have to try any teas with "monkey" in the name just 'cause.

You have no idea how close I was to actually asking about that! But see, just trying to (somewhat) refrain from making "stupid" posts. Don't think it's working though!

Hey, I've had that! But my package didn't come with little pink monkeys. Now I feel cheated!

It's probably better described as 'Pinky Matcha Milk'

It's a promotional (probably limited edition) range of their candy specific to Kyoto. I haven't tried it, but the flavour is supposed to mimic powdered green tea mixed with milk (yum!)
