I have to admit, I was surprised by the results of yesterday's Poll. The vast majority just started drinking tea for the sake of drinking TEA.

Welcome to TeaDay one and all. I hope you have many cups of TEA. Please stop by here whenever you are able and share what is or was in your cup today...stop by often. Of course, also see what everyone else is sipping as well...that is half the fun.

We take a different turn in our TeaJourney today. Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic, do you have any Chinese pets of the mythological kind around your home or work? Dragons and Foo Dogs fascinate many Americans and other non Asians...are you one of them. Do you admire a stunning lifesize Chinese Dragon or pair of Foo Dogs in pictures or if you are fortunate enough in person? Do you admire these creatures in prints?

Does Long Jing, the mythical benevolent dragon and namesake of Dragon Well Tea, live in your heart?

Maybe, do you have a Dragon themed teapot???

I have dragons. My wife, son and I are all year of the dragon. Makes for a noisy and dramatic house.

Don't have one, don't particularly want one. I hear those dragons are awfully picky about their food. And they tend to set fire to everything.

Check, one bearded dragon. He doesn't do tea though.

I just slept for over twelve hours after a trying few days. I awoke around ten minutes ago and am just beginning to feel exactly how much I needed the sleep.

I'm eying the last of the morning dew from TChing.

Today could be a good tea day as I have little to do aside from some odds & ends around the house and garden.

I have a talkative parakeet also, live one. No dragons. I need a yixing first.

Those who voted yes need to post pictures of their beloved pet, if you please. Aren't you supposed to use them making tea?

I am trying to get through the longest week ever with Pu Ehr. Kids are home on spring break and were ready to go back to school yesterday!

I voted "other", since I would like to learn more about what Chinese pets are, and their significance. I, too, would like to see those who have Chinese pets post pictures!

The only pets in my home are the 4-legged kind (Actually, one is now 3-legged.). And they don't usually breathe any fire unless dinner's late.

This morning I am drinking Jasmine Yin Hao. The first few sips were delicious, but now I am tasting an aftertaste I don't like as much. I'm curious to see how the second steep compares to the first. Edit: second steep very enjoyable. Probably overbrewed the first one slightly.

Hmmm...some of those blooming teas can be considered 'teapets.'

There are some dragons in the house, but I believe just on teaware and on a silk tea cozy received as a gift. Looks like soft-sided fez, actually.

Yunnan Gold this morning and now Gopaldhara Darjeeling in my cup. It is chilly as heck for supposedly Spring!

Intersting you should ask! I did have a FBD, but I had to get rid of of due to insurance reasons. Not to mention with the growing cost of food, I am quite glad that I did. Although I do miss it when I can smell burning wood or anything chard.

I LOVE this question. The world of tea is so large, encompassing so many different cultural, religious, and personal aspects that there's room for all kinds of questions about TEA.

Speaking of the personal, I'm drinking Keemun Concerto to play up the lapsang souchong note in my scent of the day, Serge Lutens' Mandarine-Mandarin. The overall effect has me looking over my shoulder for a small FBD.

No Chinese pets here. In fact, unlike a lot of tea drinkers, I'm not particularly a sinophile. If anything, I tend to identify more with the culture of India.

This morning I'm enjoying some organic Assam from Harney & Sons.
