black tea dries out my mouth

by lovin_tea » Apr 10th, '08, 14:31

hi I am new to this website and I was wandering if anyone knew why black tea dries out my mouth. I love it but it gets annoying sometimes and if there is a fix I would like to know. thank you.

it is almost any kind, english breakfast, vanilla, earl grey, I think every black tea I have tried has dried out my mouth a little. Maybe it is the oil.

I think it's the tannins. I actually like it. Maybe some of the more expert tea drinkers here can recommend teas with less tannins?
