Just a quick update - I'm now an official puerh newbie, having sampled purhaps 20 puerhs in the last week or two. And I can say for sure.... I am humbled. Completely and utterly humbled. I have nothing else to say on the topic until I've had a proper education. See you all in about 20 years, wonder what the internet will be like then?

More tasing notes:
2006 Golden Melon Tribute - Yum! Very tastey shu, very smooth, cooling effect on the breath, slight carmel/light chocolate taste. And Puerh Shop is sold out of it now... Damn.
2000 Bulk Mini Brick - Ugh. Life is too short for such muddy pu. It's cheap as dirt and tastes like it. Considering how good the 2006 Golden Melon Tribute was at pound for pound the same price, I wish I had bought more of that instead.
2001 Yuwi Pu-erh - Very good. Starts out a little sharp, but 2nd pot got sweet and it carried on well for several pots.

Some bad boy we know on YOUR side of town bought the last two! I say whup 'em. At least you got a taste before the well went dry.GeoffK wrote:And Puerh Shop is sold out of it now... Damn.
Thanks for the pointed and helpful review. Unfortunately, I DO have the mini bricks, but I well consume them gradually.
I can see that. I was a little bummed at how short the run was with the tea. Will use more leaf next time.cookie-dough-like.
Yeah the Yiwu is a stand out. I think it's a sample b/c the cakes they got are smashed. The only way they're selling it is as broken cake:

and while I too love it, its one I'd buy the cake of and age vs. drink green... Just imagine where this one will go in a few years.
Bummer.
