I just brewed my very first sampling of pu erh (Adagio Pu Erh Dante) and it was, um, quite an experience. With an aroma redolent of a swamp bottom and a liquor that was red to the point of being almost scarlet, I barely got the cup to my lips.
Bleh. No thank you. My sainted husband (a lapsong souchong fan) actually drank a cup of it and pronounced it okay. (High praise from a Norwegian.) He said that he would actually drink it again. Okay. Whatever. Just brew it when I'm not home and don't use my teapot!!
