Wow, usually when I affect someone enough to change their name, they enter a witness protection program or at least flee the state.

I don't think I even know what state you live in, so you should be safe.

I think this is a really cool idea. It would be cool to have a cheap gaiwan in there and/or a little strainer for those lacking the proper equipage.

I can however kind of see it ending up with like tons of little bags of flavored black teas, some chinese sencha, and some puerh crumbs. There should be an (unwritten) rule to only put in what you yourself genuinely would want to drink.

In the past, this is how tea boxes had worked:

It was tea only. No hardware of any sort. If anyone has a gaiwan, scale, thermometer, that's great. But it does add weight and that stuff can be breakable. Better just to skip.

All tea was included. Everything from supermarket bagged to super-rare loose tea. It was all here.

You put back in what you took out (but people would usually put back more). If you took 3 bags and about 2 oz. of tea, you should put back in 3 bags and 2 oz of comparable tea. It was a way to share tea with others and have others share tea with you.

That's precisely the plan, except people new to tea have the chance to take a bit more than they add, and everyone can add as much as they would like to share.

Hehe, excellent!

Maybe it'll be conveniently-timed and arrive after my trip to Japan, on which I hope to find some nice loose teas.

I've been following this thread for a while, and it sounds like a great idea! I would definitely love to take part in something like this! I've been needing a chance to try something new!
