Sunday TeaDay 4/20/08
Yesterday, you voted overwhelmingly that Tea was more important than your teaware...kind of. You may still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
TeaDay, Yikes...TeaChat was down for hours last night...I waited and waited and waited. Not even spammers could register. But, I could also not do TeaDay.
Welcome everyone to TeaDay. Share with everyone what is in your cup. Make sure you check out what is in everyone elses cup.
Today...simply, how may teas do you hope to drink. It is otherwise simply "open mic."
Off to bed for a while for me, very sleep deprived. See you all in a bit.

Yikes, Chip! I hope you sleep until sometime Monday ....
I've got Earl Grey Bravo in my cup this morning. Since I finished my citron green sample yesterday (boo hoo) and I didn't place my Adagio order in time for a replacement, I'm sure my afternoon and evening will hold only casablanca twist. Oh, wait, I still have some silver needle. Yipee!! Does answering the poll question with "2" mean I can't drink the silver needle? hmmmm .....

5 (or 6) teas today I guess.
I already had Yunnan golden tips for breakfast, houjicha with my lunch and some matcha kaoru supreme a few minutes ago.

Chip, I hope you catch up on your sleep!!
I always have two teas--one type in the morning and one type in the afternoon. I did not count my before sleep tisane in case any tea purists say that it doesn't count.
This morning, I brewed the rest of my ginger peach sample to finish it up.

My husband decided to brew some citron green to make up for the poor ginger peach sample. After reading Auggy's post, we took a strong whiff of the tea. I immediately shouted, "Fruity Pebbles!!!", and my husband shouted out, "Froot Loops!!!" And here, we thought we were being so cultured drinking our tea.
Hmm. I think I'll go brew another cup of citron green...

Shoot, TeaSweetie has about gotten me ready to give citron green another try. Maybe one day when I'm in the mood for Fruity Pebbles.

On weekends I tend to do about 3 teas. Of course, my recent forays into pu-erh might change that, since you can keep drinking from one batch of leaf until the proverbial cows come home.
This morning I'm taking a break from pu-erh and enjoying a cup of organic Assam from Harney & Sons.

I typically do 3 a day. Typically a black in the morning, something with less caffeine in the afternoon (usually a green) and then a tisdane in the evening (usually chamomile or a rooibos).
If I am having a bad allergy day though (or a cold), this number goes up to about 5 because I throw in various minty teas to clear up my sinuses
Oh and now that it is summer I'll be having more iced teas - southern style (that means very sweet with a good deal of mint in it)

I usually start with one type in the morning, then switch to another in the afternoon or evening. I don't think I can do more than two a day, maybe three.

It's a special day today. It's a T-day and B-day! I am sitting here with my present - a new Tokoname kyusu:
Aren't I a lucky gal? There was a beautiful tea towel included with the kyusu - sunflower yellow square piece of cotton. The cat got a hold of it immediately and went to sleep on it
. But what is it for? To wipe the kyusu with it?
I hope for at least three teas today - must test the new pot.

Today, I think...
Keemun Hao Ya A from specialteas
matcha from o-cha later
An Ji Bai Pian from Dragon Tea House, 2 infusions
then perhaps another bowl or 2 of matcha.
I don't know if that counts as 3,4, or 5 tea's, so I said 4.
I don't really plan this out, but my rotation kind of naturally evolves out of what I have on hand, so I generally have an idea of what tea I will have that day...
Oh, and nice Kyusu up there...

Happy birthday, Teabuddy! I am so glad you shared your Artistic Nippon treasure with us. I find the shape, color, and sheen so sensuous. What is the capacity? I wish we could all join you to watch the maiden brew ... and drink up all your tea!RussianSoul wrote:It's a special day today. It's a T-day and B-day! I'll probably drink 4 or so different teas today. I already had some sencha this morning and (about 30 minutes or so ago) two chawan of delicious matcha.
And happy birthday RussianSoul - that's a very nice present!
