Waiting to open tea order!

by Teatime » Nov 16th, '05, 15:12

It makes for a long day at work when you know that your tea order has arrived at home and you have to wait all day until you can go home to open it.

Deaming about tea.

I can totally sympathize, Teatime. My ordered my first order here at school, where UPS and FedEx packages used to come to our dorm rooms, but now they go to the campus post office just like USPS packages. FedEx tracking told me that my order had gotten here on a Friday morning, but the post office didn't put a package notice slip in my mailbox until Monday, and you can't pick up a package without a slip! I was in agony!

That is a long time to wait, teaspoon. There was a time when we were able to have orders delivered at work. But so many people were receiving so many packages (especially close to the holidays) that management finally put a stop to it.

I get everything delivered to my office, and I tear the package open as soon as it arrives. In fact, I'm placing an order tomorrow!

It's always a big ritual when I place a tea order. I get a cup of tea and sit down at the computer. I make a huge list and then reality sets in and I realize that I cannot order everything that I want.

But it is fun to plan a tea order as well as to receive it.

Enjoy!

I do the exact same thing. In point of fact, my office has grown used to seeing those packages for me.

I have a text document on my desktop called "Adagio teas to try" - and it's almost empty. I've gotten samples of most black and flavored black teas, I think I have all of the oolongs (except possibly Wuyi, I don't remember if I ever ordered that one or not), I've gotten the two greens I was most interested in, I've gotten the White Assam, and I tried rooibos and realized that it's just not for me. And I just dislike herbals in general (although I think they might be interesting to mix up with some Ceylon).

The Boyfriend asked me not to order anything else until we buy a bigger storage solution for all of my tea. As soon as I pick up a camera I'll take pics for you all to see.

It might be fun to start a thread for pictures of our tea stashes and storage solutions for them. Might give each of us new ideas to help with the storage dillemma, too!

I love this idea! Old pics of my stash can be seen here, but this was before I started ordering like a madwoman from Adagio (and a few other places), so it's totally not representative of my current tea stash. (The guest password is viewme.)
