Saturday is TeaDay 4/26/08

by Chip » Apr 26th, '08, 03:22

Yesterday, more responders said they would be a green tea if they were a tea. Oolong and pu-erh tied for second highest. A lot of responders struggled how to answer. You can still vote and discuss this topic.

Welcome one and all to TeaDay. Come and fill a pot and share what is in your cup all day, frequent updates are a bonus. Make sure you also check out what is in everyone else's cup as well, it is amazing what teas are being sipped here on TeaDay. If you need to, you can also reflect back on your TeaDay.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic deals with how do we deal with caffeine in relation to bedtime. When do was say STOP...or don't you ever have to say stop. So, share with everyone how you deal with caffeine and bed time.

I am looking forward to seeing you on TeaDay.

I voted "right up to bedtime". Unless I'm drinking some super-powerful coffee, caffeine doesn't generally keep me awake.

Currently drinking: nothing, because it is my bedtime now

4 hours or so before bed. Working nights, I'm in my own little world, though, and never know when it's time to sleep or get up or what...

I hear ya fellow night worker. I'm caffeinated open to close

Whats in my cup? After seven or so infusions of vomit, I've now switched to a nice mellow 2006 Ancient Tree Bai Zhen Jin Lian Ripe Pu-erh

Maybe I'm just strange, but I really do not get a caffeine buzz off of tea. I have caffeinated tea all day. I even take a cup of tea before bed and fall right to sleep. My 6 y.o. will drink out of my cup and not experience any problems either.

I notice that I am able to think/concentrate better during the day at work. But it's not like the jolt you get from coffee/Mt Dew for 45 minutes or so and then need a nap around 10:30 a.m. All of my new co-workers guzzle soda in the morning, switch to coffee and back to soda. I can't imagine how bloated one must feel drinking pop like that. Should bring in some of my "tea propaganda" as someone called it, and conveniently place it in the kitchen.

Caffeine doesn't seem to affect me. I have always been sleeping very well. I prefer however lighter teas at the end of the day. But if I feel like to have a 9g gyokuro at midnight, nothing will stop me!

This morning keemun and now sencha karigane.

No problems w/caffeine here. One of my favorite ways to end the day is sharing a cuppa tea w/hubby after the kids are in bed.

Busy day ahead so don't see much tea in my future. Off to stare at the tea drawer & decide what to fix w/bfast. Where's my TeaFairy that will make me tea?

No caffeine concerns with tea for me. Tea is a nice evening drink. It's relaxing, gentle and soothing - and good tasting.

Like augie, I generally have a cup on my bedside table as I'm falling asleep. Of course, when I was a coffee drinker, I could have a shot of espresso at 10 and be asleep by 10:15, so there ya' go.

This morning, Earl Grey Bravo. We're headed off to a Celtic Festival and I imagine I'll take a travel mug of Casablanca Twist with me to help with the allergy situation (man, is the pollen bad!). Any tips on a great tea to help with allergies would be much appreciated.

I've become pretty much immune to caffeine. Yet, it's odd how it does help to wake me up but does nothing to prevent me from sleeping. Hmmm.

For a while I thought caffeine was affecting my sleep and I was trying not to have any after 5. Then, last night I had a RedBull around 7:30 and I was out before 11. I think I can handle caffeine right up until bedtime. :)

No tea yet today. It's still early.

Caffeine, whether coffee or tea (i gave up soda a while ago) usually doesn't affect me much at all, so I don't really have a 'cut off' for my tea.

Oh, yes. I have some Wild Sweet Orange Green tea right now!
