Thinking about tea ... I don't spend much time, usually. I experience the tea for what it is, and appreciate it as much as I can. The decision for what to drink is made shortly before preparing the tea.

That said, today was a two tea day: First I finished off last year's Zheng He Bai Hao Yin Zhen, and followed up with some jasmine pearls. I read on my patio for several hours, brewing both of these until they rendered naught but lightly flavored water.

The weather is great: just warm, not too humid; it rained yesterday. The air is fragrant with the sweet smells of honeysuckle and some other flower whose name I don't know.

I went with his standard shipping which usually makes it to my mail box in 4-5 business days.

EMS is nice and it is fun tracking packages half a world away. But they require signatures...and it must be delivered before 3 PM. I had a sub mail carrier last year who had a delivery attempt slip already made up. He delivered mail here at around 4, no package, just the delivery attempt slip.

I checked the tracking. He had entered it as attempted delivery at 2:58/no one home. GRRRRR. I was home, he was late and just could not deliver it w/o getting into trouble. I was too nice and said nothing. It is not wise to anger your mail carrier when he will deiver tea to you.

So, my package made it from China to the front of my house in 3 days!!! It took another 3 days to finally get my package. I was hotter than tea!

That is my sentiment exactly. There are times yes, but strangely even those still, somehow, are tea related.

My life is a tapestry woven throughout with the beauty of tea.

Tenuki...where are you...

Wen shan bao zhong...no scale today. Totally eyeballing it. You would be proud. I don't think I would ever have a hard time eyeballing this tea.

I am going to try to give the scale a little bit of a break...use my senses as scales for certain teas. :D

 What is this world coming to? I made matcha this morning and now this.... The end of time must be near!

Ya, that one's easy, just fill your gaiwan 3/4 full of dry leaves and rock out with the boiling water!!

what, 3/4 leaves is too much.... :? 8g/100ml FTW!!! (that is how I do it, but I'm guessing most people will over brew that if they try it and get some bitterness)

Eh...one more shot...

I am partial to dragons on gaiwans!!! Yet I don't have one.

That is a clever use of the water to create a continuous appearance from the lid to the cup.

Actually, it was accidental. I saw I had filled the gaiwan a bit too much, and expected placing the lid on would have caused more running over the side. When the water simply pooled, it was camera time!

Accidents and stunning cropping, Tree. Thanks for sharing with us. I don't know if you saw my original post about it before Chip deleted it for obscenity, but I praised your pic there among the talk about the scientific name for Stink Horn fungus.

Your lovely gaiwan picture fully influenced me to play with my gaiwan and the sample of 90s Aged Nan Tou that I got from Victoria in a tea swap. What a nice way to recover from an afternoon of working on my thesis presentation.

It is not a doctorate, it is for my bachelor's degree actually. For my politics major, we are required to do a 25 page research paper and present it. We just tend to call it a thesis.
