I'll keep that in mind...thanks!Chip wrote:If any liquid gets between the 2 layers of glass, there is a defect...possibly at the "blow hole."
That's a really good idea!Marky wrote:"Sounds like a regular bar glass at that point."
When I want a clear glass with no handle I use a scotch glass, they're about the right size for me and they're nice and sturdy. Also, I don't like not feeling the temperature of the liquid. I generally think that if it's too hot to hold, it's too hot to drink.

I got the Bodum Pavina 9 oz and the 2 oz (for gong fu) Double Wall Thermo-Glasses and have been playing with them for a couple days now. I was suprised at how squat the 9 oz ones are, I was expecting something taller. I guess I saw so many different sizes and styles that I got pretty confused. But they look cool and feel good in my hand.
I enjoy seeing the tea color, but the background modifies that color since you see through the tea to the blue wall, silver toaster, or whatever. It's turning out to be a lot more challenging to photograph tea in glass than I thought, but a lot easier to drink out of them than I expected.
Water dispensed from my Zoji into the glass stays much hotter than water into a porcelain or stoneware mug, on the order of 20° F hotter.
So if anyone else is thinking of taking the leap into glassware, I say "JUMP!".
