thursday TEADAY 5/22/08
Yesterday, TeaChatters by a 2 to 1 margin declared that they were first generation tea drinkers. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Welcome one and all to a great day for TeaDay...well, isn't everyday? So, fill 'er up and share what is in your cup today, all day! Don't forget to check out what other TeaChatters are sipping today as well! If you need to, you can also reflect back on your TeaDay.
Teasweetie suggested today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. She wondered, "What is the origin or significance of your avatar?" Please also share with us how or why you chose your TeaChat avatar.
If you do not have an avatar, seek some inspiration here today.
I am looking forward to hearing what is your cup today, so bottoms up...refill...repeat...

Hmm, significance. I made mine intending it to be the default gravatar for a site I'm working on, but it turned out not to be quite what I was after, so I used it for myself.
Tie guan yin is in my cup. I can't quite figure out how to brew it in a gaiwan. It seemed to work out much better steeped in a regular teacup with an inverted saucer as a lid. Sigh. I miss the hyacinth.

No real significance...it's just me. I know a lot of people like to remain anonymous on the Internet but I feel it's better to have an idea with who you're chatting or "talking" with...
So far tonight it's been more Wagh Bakri CTC Assam. Good stuff.

Significance? I suppose. I spend a lot of time drawing, painting, and writing, so I guess that's why I was drawn to it. And I think it's beautiful.
Irish Breakfast this morning. I awoke with a splitting headache and am hoping the caff will help.
BTW: to all those posting on Tuesday (yeah, just getting around to that) about onigiri and the like, check out http://www.justhungry.com and the sister site http://www.justbento.com. Both are great blogs / recipe sites on making these and other Japanese treats at home.

Signifiance: simply (in fact not so simply because I modified it a little for better identification) gyokuro and gyokuro is my favorite tea (with koicha matcha).
Houjicha with my lunch.

I hope it isn't my likeness. I just saw something neat in the house and thought it would be a cool avatar.
Today is the last day of school, for our house! We may have to celebrate with a pizza and some iced tea!

It's a teacup with tea in it. Significance? Dunno.
This morning I've been using some things I got yesterday: a presso coffee maker, some whole Nicaragua coffee beans, and a one-person coffee grinder. And it came out deliciously
But now I'm back on tea track with Darjeeling FTGFOP1 and Darjeeling First Flush Fair Trade.
Later in the day I have plans on drinking my last Lapsang too make room in the tea cupboard. Need more tea... need more tea...
Have an excellent tea day, wherever you are and whatever you do.
Ps. Thanks for links, ThinkingOutLoud. All onigiri people out there - try onigiri filled with pickeled daikon, ginger and chili, with no nori but rolled in sesame seed. Yummy!

Yes. It's Armakuni, The Last Ninja.
I don't really identify with him, but he is exceedingly cool, and I'm sure he drank a lot of tea.

It's the character for tea. If there wasn't significance to it, then I wouldn't belong here. :p
Drinking some yunnan gold brewed in a silver teapot. I'm no longer certain that silver improves the tea, but it's a good pot for black tea.

My avatar Is very special to me. It is is taken from STUNNING frosted glass panel. I can no longer find the link to the site, which was amazing by the way - but I did keep the .jpg
This morning I'm enjoying Adagio Spring Darjeeling again.
The light amber color is very appealing to this oolong drinker and I don't mind the light astringency.
Have a nice day everyone!
